This year, the Association has successfully engaged in several Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations with three unions; KPAWU, KUPRIPUPA and KGHSWU covering a total of seven CBAs across different sectors. Below is a summary of the progress made under each negotiation:

  1. HFB CBA
The HFB CBA was successfully registered on 4th November 2025 after its completion and implementation with September payroll. Members and the union had already agreed to implement the negotiated terms while awaiting registration, demonstrating goodwill and a shared commitment to fair labour practices. The agreement reflected a balanced approach between business sustainability and employee welfare, with implementation taking effect from the September payroll.

More than 50 employers drawn from Kenya’s floriculture and tea sectors convened in Naivasha for a consultative meeting on the roll-out of two specialized training curricula, Floriculture and Mechanical Tea Harvesting (MTI) developed to address the growing skills demand in the agricultural sector.

The event, held at Mwanzo Lodge, Flower Business Park, Naivasha, was a collaborative effort between the Agricultural Employers’ Association (AEA) and the Kenya Tea Growers Association (KTGA). The session was facilitated by a team from the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) led by Ms. Jane Kamau and Mr. Peter Njiru, who guided members through the two curricula and discussed the action and rollout plan for their implementation.
